Corporate Controller
As the Corporate Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial functions, including budget management, providing financial analysis to support decision-making, and company finances. Client relationships are a key metric at J. Joseph. Therefore, the Controller will work collaboratively with their team and other departments across the company to provide internal and external clients with superior service. The Controller will be part of a collaborative work-hard-play-hard culture.
While serving our internal and external clients, the Corporate Controller has an obligation to leave no stone unturned.
• Responsible for all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
• Support the month-end and year-end close process.
• Responsible for collaborating with Human Resources on Paylocity payroll processing, auditing, and distribution of annual tax documents to employees, and all non-HR related set up and reports
• Optimization and management of invoicing of clients, collections, and deposits
• Responsible for Accounts Payable processing to include reviewing invoices for accuracy, providing checks and submitting to J. Joseph Officer for signature, mailing checks, timeliness of payment, and monitoring cash flow.
• Responsible for databases that relate to projections/revenue and financial information.
Financial Reporting:
• Prepare and review financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements), ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
• Develop, manage, and monitor budgets and financial forecasts
• Coordinate the preparation of financial forecasting and report variances.
Internal Controls:
• Establish and maintain Internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data based on certified audit standards when feasible
• Complete the annual audit request from the workers' compensation insurance provider.
• Coordinate insurance renewals for all policies not related to employee benefits.
Tax Compliance:
• Collaborate with CPA to ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Financial Analysis:
• Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide recommendations to improve financial performance
Policy Development:
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures in coordination with operational functions
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies based on certified audit requirements, when feasible
Cost Management:
• Collaborate with the CEO and CPA to create the annual financial budget and review expenses in relation to the approved budget. Notify the CEO of concerns throughout the year.

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting and/or operations
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a management role
• Accounting and payroll software experience
