A mentor of mine once asked me, “Michael, do you know Abraham Lincoln?" My answer was, “Yes I do?” I’ll never forget his response. He was amazed with “You do? You know his family? What he does for fun? You know him? You’ve had coffee with him." I replied with “Well I know about him.” That was the problem. I learned that knowing about someone versus knowing someone is totally different. Up until that moment, I had never thought about it.
